The desire of the administration of
Professor C. C. Asiabaka since coming on board in June 2011 has been to
improve the quality of the teaching and research in the University as
well as reward academic excellence. During the second year anniversary
of his administration, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that the Governing
Council of the University has approved the promotion of 14 academic
staff to the position of Professors.
He noted that the promotion of the highly accomplished and
recognized academics followed a stringent criteria of teaching,
professional activity, service, quality teaching and demonstrated
willingness to work closely with individual students, followed by
professional activity indicated by scholarly achievements; participatory
service to the University and the community. He added that Management
will encourage academic staff in their academic pursuit and career
progression to the benefit of the system.
