UI gets world class hospital from Otunba Olasubomi Balogun

In what can be aptly described as a unique benefaction to the University of Ibadan, Otunba (Dr) Olasubomi Michael Balogun made an outright donation of a gigantic paediatric hospital to the institution at a petite ceremony in Ijebu Ode on Friday, 7 June, 2013.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of the deed of total gift of the Otunba Tunwase National Paediatric Centre by Otunba Balogun to the University of Ibadan, Otunba Balogun said he made the donation to the University because of his determination to add to the quality of children's lives, stressing that he was confident that UI would help in fulfilling his vision of a sustainable legacy.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole who led other principal officers of the University to the ceremony thanked the donor for the unique benefaction stressing that "the University of Ibadan is a national treasure and Otunba Balogun has contributed to that treasure."

He assured Otunba Balogun that the University would bring on board high net worth medical professionals who would deliver top rate services in the hospital.

Otunba Tunwase National Paediatric Centre, a tertiary referral centre for teaching, research and health care delivery for infant and children was solely built from the scratch by Otunba (Dr.) Michael Olasubomi Balogun, CON, a pioneer, role model, doyen of banking and finance and worthy recipient of LL.D (honour causa) 1989 of the University of Ibadan.
